Wednesday Titus 3

I am probably getting on a flight to Seattle as you read this. It leaves at 6:00am from Omaha this morning. I am actually writing this on Tuesday evening!! Love these computers!!!!
Verse 4 & 5 are the ones that struck me - "But when the KINDNESS and the LOVE of God our Savior toward man appeared.......He saved us"
God doesn't come to us in harshness, as we think He should because we don't deserve anything better, He comes to us in Kindness and Love!!! What if we approached people in the same way?? Especially those that don't know Him. They ones who don't expect people to be kind to them - the ones we don't especially want to be kind to - the ones we have to try real hard to love in the first place - !!!! Kindness and love to so much to people who don't know the Lord.
Don't expect love from others, but love them whether they give it back or not!!!

Those verses really jumped out at me, too, especially the phrase in verse 5: "It was all His doing; we had nothing to do with it." That just makes me breathe a sigh of relief that it's not in my weak hands to settle my salvation or to keep myself in His good favor -- it's all God's work in my life, He's the One Who's doing the active work of saving me, of daily washing me from my sins. It sure takes the pressure off me because, after all, i'm not capable of saving myself! But it also doesn't mean that i can just slack and cruise through life -- i still need to strive after righteousness, to obey His voice, to have a repentant heart, to build my faith. As verse 14 says, I need to be "diligent in [my] work so that all necessities are met... and [I] don't end up with nothing to show for [my] life."

Praying for you Pastor Susan and Sharon! Excited to hear all the great things God does through you!
