Monday~ 2 Timothy 1:1-18

I am so excited about posting today! Of all times to be asked to post ~ wouldn't you know, God is so good to give me one of my favorite scriptures! Grace, mercy and peace from God.... who would not want that! That we will be reminded of our gifts that are in us through the laying on of hands. Which goes back to the word that was given to us in church yesterday that when we accepted Christ in our life and were filled by the Holy Spriit... we WERE anointed. What an awesome day that was in my life :0) (when I received the Holy Spirit) That we will not be ashamed of our testimony. How powerful it is. Especially to the people who know us best. They KNOW how imperfect we are. With all that is going on with my Dad. I was able to pray with him before surgery. That did not always come easy for me. But that day it was so clear to him and me that he had nothing else to lean on but Jesus. So at 75 years old, he so opened up to Christ and to holding Moms hand and praying for Gods will to be done. Well surgery was rough and they didn't expect him to make it. But...... after going back in to surgery three (3) times and a week in the hospital... he is home. And the first thing he told me was "Did you hear what my Doctor did? He prayed with me before surgery" WOW!!! :0) I said "Did you tell him we prayed for him and anesthesiologist and the nurses and the hospital! 2Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind. We will NOT be ashamed. Thank you my women of God friends at LCC. We must encourage one another to stay in the word and to help each other when we can not help our self!

Great post, Kim!!! What a testimony you are to your parents. I love how God saw to it your dad got prayed for twice - and by the surgeon. It was just a confirmation to him that his daughter was right on!!!
As I was reading this chapter today I saw so clearly how Paul encouraged Timothy by telling him how he thanks God for him and by telling him how "genuine" his faith is and how proud of him he is.
I know it is really important to tell each other the good things we see in them and not only tell them what they have done wrong! I was the kind of mom that was quick to let my kids know when they didn't obey, but I had to really work on praising them and complimenting them. But if I think about how God encourages me it is by sending someone my way to tell me I am doing a good job or just a "thank you" from someone at church or - like yesterday when we were dedicating little Izabel to the Lord - a little child will take my hand and show me they feel comfortable with me and love me. The more we give out encouragement and thanks the more they return to us.
Take some time today to tell someone the good things you see in them!!! They just might need that encouragement!
