Hebrews 2 ~ Tuesday

I.D. Identification.

We see badges of ID flipped open in our police and investigation forces. Event staff wear ID badges around their necks. My husband wears an ID badge clipped to his shirt. ID proves belonging, brings authority and provides entrance.

We also identify ourselves with someone. "I have this in common with them..." We can empathize with each other.

No lower-case god can do any of this.

But our GOD can!

Because Jesus is the Son of God, He has authority. Because Jesus became man, we can identify with Him.

Praise Jesus for making the ultimate sacrifice, for going all the way in completing His work on earth ... This chapter in Hebrews makes so clear the absolute love Jesus has for us -- not for angels because He didn't identify with them, didn't die for them -- but for all of mankind! What a privilege to be able to say to our hurting neighbors, our desperate co-workers, the clerk at the store --- that "Yes, my God knows you and knows how you feel! He's been there!"

Help me, Lord, today to rise above my circumstances because not only have you been in my shoes, You succeeded ... and I can too!

Thanks for posting on Hebrews this week it's a great book - I am glad to be back. We saw God's authority over and over again while we were gone. He is truly in control and I am so glad.
