Saturday I Timothy 6

This is the final chapter of I Timothy. Let's look at verses 11 thru 14a. Paul lists several things Timothy should do to be a "man of God".
1. Run from evil things. Don't even stop to look or listen, just run.
2. Pursue righteousness, a godly life, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
3. Fight the good fight for the true faith.
4. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you.
5. Obey God's commands.
"Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again."
That's how to keep on the right path. If we will listen and obey - sounds so simple, and yet it seems so difficult. We just get lazy and so easily sidetracked. I have found that if I keep my focus on the eternal and not on the natural I have a reason to do what needs to be done in the here and now even if I don't feel like doing it. I have to fight to keep from becoming distracted by things that seem to take my energy and joy. "I keep my eye on the prize."
Thank you Lord for the instruction given to Timothy. Help me to remember that You haven't just told me what to do but you are there to help me along the way. Keep my desire for You!
