Wednesday Psalms 15

Again, the Word of God is straight and to the point. We tend to want to compromise what He says all the time. I mean, how much more "to the point" can it be to say "Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord - Those who live without blame or cause to be blamed - Those who have a sincere heart and speak the truth - those who refuse to gossip (wow -gossiping will keep us out of His sanctuary and able to worship) - those hate sin and honor faithful followers - those keep promises not matter how it hurts - and then those who loan money but don't charge interest (money is always brought into worship - at least our heart toward our money) and those who can't be bribed to lie about the innocent.
What a list. The one speaks to me the most is the one about gossip. We take that so lightly but God never does. When we talk about others behind their backs He notices and that is a sin that ranks right up there with the worst - if there is a ranking!!!
Lord, help me to remember that You are listening all the time and let me show love to others even when they aren't around.

I want to be able to worship with a pure heart - that is the only way we can be true worshippers. Just remember, He is the one to make us pure, so as we come to worship, allow Him to show you what is in your heart and then ask Him to "clean you up"!!!

My Bible says, "those who REFUSE to gossip". Oh, I guess your said that, too. I liked that word. It made the sentence.

That is good. That word "gossip" means "chitchat, speaking personal intimacies or secrets about others, divulging personal information about others, reporting behavior of other people." How many times do we do that as Christians in the name of Jesus, "concern for other people", or "just letting you know so you can pray" or "let's pray for.....". It's still gossip. Anyway, this is just reminding me and convicting me to make sure I'm checking my own heart motive when it comes to divulging anything about another person.

The other verse I love is "and speaks truth in his heart." I love that....not just speaking truth in our mouths, but really speaking the truth in our heart, having the truth, and not lying to ourselves when it comes to issues, but having a transparent heart with truthful heart motives and all that stuff. I love things that deal issues of our heart b/c they always speak to me and convict me.
