There are so many verses I could comment on in this chapter but I am going to pick just a couple. Verses 11 thru 17 spoke to me about the importance of choosing to fear the Lord. If I fear Him He will guide me and show me the path I should choose and then (this is the cool part) "they will live in prosperity and their children will inherit the land." Once again I am shown that I don't live for myself but for the next generation. What I choose now, today will affect the generation coming after me. I believe this is a truth that has to be passed on to our children because if we don't show them, they will do what comes naturally and that is to live just for today and for themselves. So many young people don't have the thought of what their actions today do to their future because their parents didn't live for the furtue to show them how important it is. I believe this is something spiritual and we have to make a point to teach this principle to our children. We do it in many ways, one being to prioritise our lives so children see that what we see as important is not what is around us - our things - but it is serving God, praying, caring for others, etc. God will show us this path to choose if we fear Him and servie Him and then the promise is that our children will prosper and have a great inheritance!!!
Every Sunday afternoon I will post the new schedule of Bible reading for the week. Arlene is going to be posting for this coming week and the next one. I will be reading along with you!!!

That is really good. I love that Psalm. Those verses about fearing thing Lord also spoke to me. My translation says "Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses." I love that b/c someone who fears the Lord doesn't just learn on his own terms, He lets the Lord teach Him in any way He chooses. Something that I read in Thessalonians earlier this week has been ministering to me all week in that regard. In 1 Thess 5 it says to rejoice in all things, pray without ceasing, give thanksgiving for this is the will of God for you.....for He is faithful and He will do it." I love that b/c sometimes the way God teaches me isn't even what I'd view as "teaching" unless I could understand that every single thing that he brings into my life, every joy, heartache, difficult circumstance, whether caused by a person, the enemy, or Him, He has purpose for it and His purpose for me is good and for a future and a hope and He has called me and He has to prepare me (and all of us) for that and He will use ANYTHING in our life to do it. I've just been trying to be thankful and remember to rejoice no matter the season I'm in b/c God is teaching me the way He chooses and I want to learn everything I can. I want to be pliable b/c I love that next verse that says we will dwell in prosperity and my descendants will inherit the land and that His secret is with those who fear Him and He will show them His covenant. I want Him to teach me so He can entrust me with the secret things of God...to know His heart, His desire for us, our kids, our church, the next generation, the nation, and the world. The fear of God verses always really speak to me just b/c if every decision I made was really based on pleasing God's heart then I wouldn't have to worry about wrong decision making or wrong priorities. It keeps us in check.
That was really good, Kirsten. The thing about God that we all have to remember is what you said at the end - it's only up to us to have a heart that runs to God - then He sees us as one that wants Him to intervene - then we have to trust Him when He does intervene in our lives. I have 2 friends whose husbands just went to prison - they are trusting that this will be a good thing and a new beginning in their lives but it is really hard to deal with all the frustration of being alone to raise your family - and the husband is having to trust God to take care of his family while he is away and deals with the guilt every day of the mistakes he made to cause this to happen - BUT GOD KNOWS!!!!
