Monday Psalm 100 & 103

I believe verse 3 is the key to this Psalm - "Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture."
The beginning of worship is acknowledging that the Lord of our lives is God. He is our creator and we are nothing but sheep in his pasture. If we can really see our lives as being sheep in a pasture where the Lord is our shepherd then we can just begin to trust him and believe that he really cares and watches out for us.
Verse 4 shows us how to enter His presence - with thanksgiving and with praise. As we acknowledge the Lord as being our God, then we can truly thank and praise Him for everything!!!

Psalm 101 is the "I will" Psalm. David's declarations made me see that my choices in life are totally up to me - my will is what I have to control - or change to conform to God's will. The choices that David is declaring here are great - just choose one that really speaks to you. I love verse 6 - I will search for faithful people to be my companions. I have to search for those faithful people. Not everyone that seems to be faithful really is - I know this is so important in my life - and on the other hand - I need to be one of those faithful friends to others.
Have a wonderful Monday!!!

“Shout…come…acknowledge…enter…go…give” Praise, whether by myself or with the Body of Christ, is not a passive, spectator event. The understood subject of Psalm 100 is “you” and declares that we are to honor God with our praises! Verse 5 is a wonderful promise of God’s unfailing love, not only for me but for my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all generations!

Psalm 101… what an awesome Psalm to start each day with! Verse 2b says, “I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.” To me, integrity involves all of God’s character ... love, forgiveness, generosity, compassion, etc., in every area of my daily living. I must live God’s character behind the closed doors of my home…with and in front of my children, grandchildren, and family first…before I can live God’s character outside my home. There will be times I blow it at home and in public, but part of God’s integrity in my life is for me to repent and seek forgiveness. Lord, I submit my life to you this day…set a watch over my mouth, my attitude, and my actions so I don’t sin against you.

“Praise the Lord, I tell myself” (Psalm 103:1&2). There are times when I have to tell myself, Self, Praise the Lord! Reading Psalm 103 puts me in remembrance of all I have to praise God for and starts the praise from my lips… He forgives and forgets my sin, He heals all my diseases, redeemed me from death, surrounds me with love and compassion, fills my life with good things, renews my youth (PTL!), gives righteousness and justice…God is merciful and gracious, slow to get angry, full of unfailing love, has not punished me for my sins nor does He deal with me as I deserve to be dealt with (PTL!). How can I not praise the Lord! Even God’s angels are to praise Him, and they are listening for each of His commands, to carry out His word! (vs. 20)

“Praise the Lord, everything He has created, everywhere in his kingdom. As for me – I, too, will praise the Lord.” That’s my declaration … “As for me – I, too, will praise the Lord.”
