Friday Psalm 19

FIRST OF ALL I want to bring to your attention the new blog to follow on the right of this post. It is Katie Caudill's blog while she is in Uganda. Feel free to comment and let her know you are anxiously waiting for the next Post!!! AND pray for her. She needs a lot of grace to be able to take in all she is seeing and feeling and to be able to process it all as God wants her to. AND pray for her protection - that nothing will harm her and she will be safe from every danger - "seen or unseen" as my pastor used to pray!!!

Psalm 19 - wow - full of such good stuff. Verse 7-10 are a beautiful song I know so I have it memorized. Such truth! - Instructions of the Lord - perfect, Decrees of the Lord- trustworthy, Commandments of the Lord- right and full of joy and bring insight for living, Reverence for the Lord is pure and forever, laws of the Lord are true and fair, and they are all more desirable than gold, even the finest, and sweeter than honey.
When we put the Lord first in our lives and seek after what He is, all of these things I just listed, we begin to live without fear and are able to trust that all that is happening in our lives is because He is in the middle of it and there is a purpose in everything we go thru and face. That keep sense of security comes only from Him and until you have it you don't know it is possible to have. That's why we have to tell others about it - about serving Him and how your life changes and that heavy burden of having to do it all by yourself gets put on His shoulders where it belongs anyway!!!

Verse 14 has always been one of for my life - I pray it all the time - "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord my redeemer."
AMEN!!!

I love verse 14 also. It's like no matter what I do, the real questions is: "is my heart really pleasing to Him?" In all the busyness, is my heart pleasing Him? I believe He is pleased with my heart, but I do that little check in my spirit a lot b/c I want more than anything to have a life and heart that's pleasing to Him b/c all the wonderful works in the world aren't worth it is my heart isn't doing things for the right reasons, or the right motives or unto the Lord or whatever.

I also like all those verses you mentioned pastor Susan. I liked verse 12-13 too, especially "cleanse me from my secret faults. keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me." That is so good and I love how real and human David is. That word "presumptuous" means "taking liberties or overstepping bounds." He wasn't talking about major sin. Strongholds that get dominion over us are built one brick at a time, one decisions at a time, one choice at a time. Before we know it, we can have a huge stronghold in our life that we sometimes aren't even aware of that limit us and keep us from Gods' purpose for our lives. I love David's prayer that his heart would be right with God in every decisions, thought, etc. It makes me want to be like that too!

Sorry I was having trouble posting.
I liked verse 7 ...the law of the Lord is perfect reviving the soul... I have prayed for revival for this country like so many others, I think instead I will start praying for the law of the Lord to be made known and that people will apply that law to their lives. Then the revival of the soul of this country is promised by God
