I love the opening of this chapter. Peter and John were going about their regular routine, attending 3pm prayer service, and the saw the lame man at the entrance of the temple. Now, this is something they did every day and you would have thought they would have seen this man before now. It says that he had been begging in the same place for a long time. BUT for some reason they saw him in a different way. The only thing that I can see that was different is that for the first time when he asked them for money they responded in a way that was totally different from any other way. They didn't see themselves being the answer to this man's problems but they saw that Jesus was the answer and they could give him Jesus even though they had no money.
We like to throw money at problems instead of putting Jesus in the middle of the problem. I have been praying for certain miracles that I need in my life and that I see are big needs in the life of my church and I am beginning to realize that I can't take care of those problems in my own strength or with my own resources, BUT Jesus can and all I need to do is to put Him in the middle of the situation and believe He can be the answer.
He is the answer to EVERY situation, not just money or health problems, but He is the answer to life and our outlook on life. We allow the business and the confusion of life get in our way and distract and discourage us BUT I believe it is Jesus trying to get our attention - not that He causes our problesm, in fact, we are usually the ones that create our own problems - but He uses them to bring us closer to Him IF we will see Him as being the answer to EVERY problem that comes our way!!!
"Jesus, open our eyes and speak to our hearts to see things as You see them so our faith will be great because it is in YOU!!!"
Let Jesus be in your every day routine and then see how He works thru you!!!

I love how you pointed out that they saw the man differently that day and they probably had seen him many other times! I read this today and was reminded that I want to see situations around me that the Lord can totally change. What situations and people are in and around my life that need a touch of God that I could pray for? My study bible says that this was the first time since Jesus was not physically with them that the disciples called on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and there was a miracle. Were they suprised at all when they guy got up and walked? Probably not, because they had recently seen Jesus do it a million times. Would I have been suprised? Probably. Lord, help my faith!
