"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25
Wow, Jesus is so awesome! This verse makes me feel loved, valued and secure. Jesus lives to speak up on my behalf! He LIVES for that, He gave His life for that!
I continue to be amazed at this wonderful Savior Who would give UP His life and then continue to LIVE His life for me, for us, for my neighbors, coworkers, family members.
Jesus' example encourages me to strive to live my life more selflessly, reminding me why God placed me on this spinning ball called Earth -- not to live for myself, but to live for God. And for those neighbors, coworkers, family who don't yet know Him.
And, I love that Jesus "saves to the uttermost." Not just part way, not just 'til I mess up, not just 'til this body returns to dust. Forever!
What is God speaking to you today?

My favorite part of today's reading is the beginning of Hebrews 6 - Foundation Stones. Every time I read this I am reminded of how important the foundation is in my spiritual life. If I don't pay attention to my foundation and lay those stones of Repentance from Dead Works and Faith Toward God and Doctrine of Baptisms and Laying on of Hands, Resurrection of the Dead and Eternal Judgement, I won't have a strong spiritual life and then won't be able to be a strong refudge for those I am ministering to let alone keeping my own life on track.
If you do things God's way it makes it so much easier and better.
Thank you Lord for showing us the way!
Hebrews 6 speaks about growing up in Christ and trusting God. Verse 1 in the Message Remix reads, “So come on, leave the preschool finger painting exercises on Christ…grow up in Christ. The basic foundational truths are in place …”
Growing up requires us to move out of our comfort zone(s), to act on what we have learned, to move to the next level in a given area of our natural or spiritual life. Growing up requires us to live by faith … to not just believe that God can do what He says but trust Him to bring His promises to pass in our circumstances.
Verse 15 in the NLT reads, “Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.” There’s that “p” word … patience, not one of my better virtues! I would rather skip over the “waiting patiently” right to the “received.” But James 1:1-4 (Msg Remix) says ”…You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” The tests and challenges of life do 2 things. First, show us the status of our faith … do we believe what we think we believe? Second, bring maturity, making us strong in character, ready for anything.
“So God has given us both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take a new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” (vs. 18-19 NLT) Our soul is the battleground… the Word is our anchor.
Numbers 23:19 … a wonderful anchor for our soul …
“God is not a man that he should lie.
He is not a human that he should change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Preach it Arlene!!!! Right On!!
