Tuesday May 19th Acts 8

The beginning of this chapter sets the stage for a lot of what happens in Acts. It was like Stephen's obedience and willingness to die for the truth of the Gospel made others realize the "calling" that was on all who believed in Jesus and the potential for persecution JUST because of that belief. Stephen's stoning brought fear and the necessity of moving from their "comfort zone" to another town where Christians were less heard of. BUT God used this to spread the Gospel. Wherever they went they began to tell people of Jesus. God uses every situation for good even though the enemy thought this would kill the church, it made it grow and spread throughout the land and even beyond.
"Thank you Lord for your plan. It goes beyond my natural thinking. I just need to trust in You and believe you mean to do me good."

I was impressed with the passage about Saul. It made me wonder, how often do I question change in people's lives? When God changes a willing vessel, they truely are changed! The Jews questioned that change. They wanted to kill Saul! But the disciples saw the work God did. Saul was preaching the gospel after not long at all! This passage also showed me that if God can change Saul, He can help me in my areas that are weak!
