"God's Mysterious Plan Revealed"
This is the heading for chapter 3. Telling the Gentiles they will be accepted in Christ just like the Jews was a "mysterious" thing at that time. What I think of in our day is that there are no differences between any nationality!! God took down the walls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! Salvation is for everyone - black, white, red, yellow - you name it, there is no discrimination! This is His "plan" for the world. This is one of the first things He did among the people of God after He rose from the dead and the Church was born.
Vs 10 & 11
"God's purpose in all this was to use the Church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord."
There is no other religion that does this. Christianity is the one that unites everyone.
I love the rest of this chapter which is "Paul's prayer for Spiritual Growth".
Hi prayer is one that I have found myself praying for people in our church - especially the leaders. And I pray it for myself. If we could really "know" the power God has given us in Him - and by "know" I mean experience and believe and trust it as truth and then begin to act in that power. And it comes from knowing His love and who we are in Him. Paul explains this as being able to "understand fully". I believe we begin to know God and His power and love fully as we experience Him in our lives and begin to live life expecting to see His power at work in situations we can't do anything about in our own "limited" way.
We used to sing a song "Show your power, oh Lord, our God." We are seeing that power at work in the lives of the people coming to our church. Testimony after testimony and change and spiritual growth is happening. "Keep it up, Lord!!!"
