Saturday Galatians 6

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - MOM - ELEANOR
This is the final chapter in Galatians. One verse stuck out to me and that is
vs 7b "You will always harvest what you plant."
It goes on to say that those who live only to satisfy their own desires will harvest "death and decay". But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest "everlasting life from the Spirit."
And the Paul encourages us in verse 9 - which is a verse I have said to myself a lot in the last 20 year - "So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." It just takes not giving up to reap that harvest!!! Of course the seed has to be good seed, but in time, good seed will produce a great harvest!
Thank you Lord for your promise!!!

Next week we will read Ephesians and that is also 6 chapters. And once again, I encourage you to read thru the whole book at once before you begin the chapters for the week. It just gives you a good idea of the purpose of the book. Many scholars believe Paul wrote this book to the "churches" (plural) in Ephesus to give any church that is beginning a good start. It isn't directed toward any certain problem but just gives some basics like God's greatness, and the powers we fight and the exalted Christ....etc. This book is also very pastoral in nature - I know it is Jerry's favorite book.

See you on Monday - Chapter one!!!
