Thursday Colossians 3:18-25

These are just a couple of verses but Paul is addressing come common relationship principles that are so important to our lives. If we can get these things right in our lives, we will find ourselves being less distracted and able to do more because the common problems that develop thru these relationships are dealt with in these verses.
Paul addresses wives, husbands, children, fathers, and slaves or servants. Each category is addresses as to their outlook in the relationship.
Wives, submit to your husbands - Husbands, love your wives - Children, always obey your parents - Fathers, do not aggravate your children - Slaves (or servants), obey your earthly masters in everything you do, try to please them all the time, serve them sincerely, work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. That's it in a nutshell. Each one touches us and our willingness to put others before ourselves. In each area we are to give and not receive. And we are required to do something that doesn't come naturally to us. That's why we need God in our to do any of this. But it is in submitting our will to Him that He gives us the "want to" and then it becomes an easy thing!!!
Thank the Lord for such clear instructions thru His servant Paul.

There are those “S” words again...submit and serve! Submitting is an attitude of heart, first and foremost, and a choice (our will). “Do it as unto the Lord” – that is the foundation for everything we do. If we see submitting and serving in this truth, then our attitude in will be right and it won't be a hard thing! There are times our flesh really tries to rule and reign – I choose not to set aside my own schedule to help, nobody notices what I do, someone else will do it, or whatever. But we cannot serve God without serving one another. The scripture God always speaks to my heart is “Do not grow weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap if you faint not.” When we give in secret, He will reward us openly. If we look to people to reward us for what we do, we will miss God’s blessings!
