Good morning everyone. Seven is kind of late for you early risers - but early for others - I am just trying to appeal to ALL people - yea, right!! I just got up late!!! Great beginning to a wonderful Wednesday.
This chapter, 28, is full of really great wisdom and I underlined and circled quite a few verses. Then I read something that said it is "Wisdom for Governmental and Civic Leadership" and realize it applies to me as a leader in my community but also realized we are all leaders and we are taught that in this church and in God's Kingdom. We are Kings and Priests and should see our position in life as one that leads others to Christ. Sooooo, no wonder many of these verses spoke to me.
I will just mention a couple:
vs 2 is one we hear a lot "When there is moral rot within a nation, it's government topples easily." I saw this overseas in countries I lived in but I see it in America when one of our leaders falls into corruption. It affects all of us. The Governor of Illinois is a good example right now. When all is uncovered we will be surprised how deep the corruption goes.
vs 14 "Blessed (happy) are those who fear to do wrong, but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble." I want to be a leader that leads by example - and fears to do wrong because of those who follow me - but also I realize it is a blessing to fear wrong. Stubbornness just gets me into trouble. I have watched people who just won't change or give in or give up and they eventually get themselves buried so deep they can't get out of the trouble they have brought upon themselves. I always pray God will make me one that is quick to say "I'm sorry" and "Forgive me, I was wrong."
I also liked 24, 25 and 26 - but I will leave the rest for others to comment on!!!
Have a great Wednesday.
Susan
