One of the verses that spoke to me this morning was verse 22. "Do not say "I will recompense evil;" Wait for the Lord and He will save you." I love that verse b/c it reminds me to let God be God. He is the God of Recompense. It is so tempting when someone wrongs us to point the finger of blame and look for a way to "pay them back". However, when we are praying people, we can know that God is in control of every thing that goes on in our life. Even when someone does something to wrong us, He is still sovereign. He can turn any evil and use it for good. He can use any circumstance in our life for His purpose. He can use any situation to stretch our character, integrity or capacity. It doesn't mean that a wrong someone does to us is "right", but it does mean that we can wait on the Lord, keep our eyes on Him, and instead of worrying about what he or she did to us, we can look for God in it and let Him do what He wants to do through the circumstance and leave the judging and pay back to Him. He will deal with that person. Our responsibility is to stay connected to God and to keep our heart attitude right.
Another one that spoke to me was verse 30 "blows that hurt cleanse away evil, as do stripes the inner depths of the heart." This kind of goes with the first one. When someone does something that hurts us, we can get mad at them, or let God be God and let Him do a work in our own life and heart through it. I do believe that when we respond right to God, that He uses those circumstances to build into us compassion, kindness, etc. When we don't respond right to God, I believe it builds into us insecurity, pride, etc. When we go through hurtful things, God uses them to grow us if we let Him. I have been hurt by people lots of times, but how I responded in those times determined how much God did in my life through it. Sometimes I got mad....if produced insecurity. Sometimes I let it go and forgave them....it produced character in me. This is a good reminder. I want it to produce something good in my life like character and compassion in my life next time I get hurt by someone.

Very good. Another verse goes along with the ones you have posted on is verse 3 "avoiding a fight is a mark of honor, only fools insist on quarreling." I like how practical Proverbs can be. VS 14 is so true - "The buyer haggles over the price, saying, "It's worthless," the brags about getting a bargain!" This is so true and it happens in other countries more than ours. God is very practical and a verse like this makes me know how much he really knows how we think - after all, He created us!!
