“He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn’t know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd.” (vs. 36)
Sounds like America and the world today! Such great problems and not knowing where to go for help. Maybe even, at times, my problems seem so great. But I know where to go for help. But do I go to God first or after I’ve tried to figure out how to fix my own problems?
I think about people in America, in Kenya, and other parts of the world. Moms and gmas, like you and me, who want their children and grandchildren to live in peace and safety, have food to eat, clothes to wear, health. Do we share with them where help is -- Jesus? Is there compassion in our hearts to be used of God to touch their lives? To pray for them . . . to pray for laborers . . . to be a laborer?
Do people, not just their problems, touch my heart? I believe God purposefully brings people across our path each day. Are we/am I moved with God's compassion for them?
“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14)
During these special 21 days of fasting and prayer, we are seeking God’s face. His promise is that He will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and bring healing. Let's also pray that He will use each of us to bring in the harvest this year!

Thanks for that post! God has been speaking to me day after day about loving people. Just like what you wrote. I love it! And I pray God teaches me how to love people and see them more the way He sees them every day. He has to expand my capacity. I like the sentence you wrote about seeing people and having compassion on them... not just their problems. So good!
Thanks, Sarah. Problems are important; but people's spiritual condition, their salvation, is more important than the problem. Problems can try to be bigger than the value of the person.
