Could this be God's Will?

Have you ever wondered what God was thinking when He allowed something to happen in your life or in the world? Could He posssibly see any good coming out of what He allowed.........say in Haiti? I mean, look at all the suffering.....could that be God? Isn't He in control???
When I read chapter 14 of Matthew this morning it struck me how cruel and demeaning John the Baptist's death was. And that's when I asked myself..."was this really God's will"? An angry woman asked for his head on a tray and Herod had John beheaded just to save face in front of all his guests!!! Look at John's life...he did what God asked him to do even before he was born! If he had to die like that....what was God thinking?
But what happens after John's death is what is so amazing...miracle after miracle began to happen in Jesus's ministry.
There is so much we don't understand in our world and I had to come to a realization a long time ago that I may never understand until I get to Heaven and then a lot of things I think I need to know now won't even matter because the whole picture of what God has been up to will be revealed to us and we will know that all along He was just being Himself...God...in control and knowing all things!!!
Jesus will look at us like He did Peter when he began sinking while he was walking on the water in vs31 "you have so little faith....why did you doubt me?" All we have to do is believe!!!

Great insight, Pastor Susan. It's true, we live our life in the natural and a lot of the time (most of the time :))don't take the spiritual into consideration. What is God's greater plan, though, and how are we a part of it? This human life is temporal, but we are here preparing for the eternal. Lord help us to be more eternal minded. Help us see what You see so we can maneuver life with wisdom and understanding and not reaction. Help us go through this journey with faith and not fear.

Such a good post and comment! All we really have to do is walk in faith. Let God be God. And trust Him.
