As I have been reading the chapters in Exodus and Leviticus I keep asking myself the question...."Why so many rules and why did the Lord put them all in the Bible when there are so many we don't follow any more?" Have you ever asked that question?
There is so much detail put into these books and I know there must be a reason for it all. One thought that came to me was that I see in all of these rules that our God is a detail God and He is concerned about EVERYTHING He asks us to do. It matters to Him! We tend to believe He doesn't really care much if we don't pray one day or read His Word but I think He sees and knows EVERYTHING we do and don't do.....and He cares!
My motivation to keep His commands and seek after His will and way should be that I am concerned because He is so concerned!
My motivation should be to please Him by doing what He asks of me...not out of fear or because I like to keep rules....but because I love Him and want to please Him.
If we love Him in that way we will do His will out of a pure motive. He knows us so well....! He knows what is good for us and how we think and He also knew that we can't keep rules very well! That's why His Son came to live among us and identify with us. His Grace and Mercy covers us and keeps us in right standing with the Father. Thank you Jesus for fulfilling all the law of the old covenant by establishing the new covenant and covering our sins with your blood.
The more I know Him, the more I want to please Him, the more I want to love what He loves and want what He wants!!!

Great post making sense of all these rules! I never thought about it that way, but it does show how he cares about the smallest details. And thank God for grace!
