Today's reading of Psalms 103,104 and ICor 2 was so good. It is just packed full of the awesomeness of our God. When I read verses like 103:11 "For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth," I wonder - just slightly - if I am one that fits into the "those that fear Him" catagory. His promises are so wonderful.....how can I be one that benefits from them? Do you ever feel like that too....like the Bible is talking to some group of people out there that is perfect in everything and they must be the ones that are experiencing God's perfect love and peace and......???!!!
Maybe, just maybe, it's our own perception of what God's blessing toward us looks like. Maybe it is all around us and we just look for Him in the things we don't really like in our lives. "God must not really love me that much because my boss sure didn't give me a very good review this week...." When all along God was wanting us to see "the boss" as He sees that person and begin to love them unconditionally as He loves them and ...... well, you get the picture.
Then I read ICor 2 and got to verse 5 "I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God." Paul was telling the Church in Corinth that he purposely used plain language in his preaching so they would see he was just an ordinary man that was being used of God to do the miraculous. A lot of what God does in our lives involves our trusting Him and Him shaping and molding us into the image He has created us to be.
Our job is to TRUST in Him and His power and not in the wisdom of man or in the way human nature would do things.
Psalm 103:13 "The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust."
"LET ALL THAT I AM PRAISE THE LORD!!!"...the very last bit of Psalm 103.
God is in control...and He wants the best for you....trust Him!

SO GOOD!, your remarks on the blog. You said it like it is.
Wow, that is so true that sometimes the places we look for God are the "things we don't really like in our lives." And yes, that is the place where i sometimes start to wonder if i'm fearing God!
That's the very quandary i've found myself standing in more days than not as we've been waiting for our house to sell. We know we're supposed to be in Lincoln; God gave Dustin a job there ...
So i start to think, "Is there a place of disobedience in my life? Somewhere i'm not fearing God, not giving Him everything?"
So when i find something i need to change (the list is extensive), i repent and give it to God.
That's why i really loved Psalm 103 today. The whole chapter was brimming with God's love! It's undeniable! Impossible not to feel God's love when reading that chapter!
His mercy and love are amazing! I'm so grateful.
