Psalm 77 verses 7-15 really spoke to me today and painted a clear picture of how my mindset can change, how my faith can grow.
Verses 7-10 are full of sayings like,
Will the Lord walk off and leave us for good?
Has His salvation promise burned out?
The High God goes out of business just the moment I need Him.
In verses 11 & 12, the writer reflects on all the many things God has done.
Lay out on the table the ancient wonders;
I'll ponder all the things You've accomplished,
and give a long, loving look at Your acts.
Then in verses 13-15, there is a totally changed point of view on life's situation:
O God! Your way is holy! ...
You're the God Who makes things happen;
You showed everyone what You can do --
You pulled Your people out of the worst kind of trouble...
Wow, that was such a reminder to me that when life is hard, when I don't appear to be receiving any answers from God about something I'm seeking Him for, when I feel alone or just down in the dumps ....
What I need to do is remember God and all He's done.
Examine the wonder and greatness of God's creation.
Really think about all the things He's done --- in the Bible, in my life (i like to pull out prophetic words over my life. Also a good reason for a journal.). For me, taking time to praise and worship Him for Who He is and for all He's done really help me remember these things and changes my perspective, pumps up my faith.
God IS present in my situation.
God IS powerful.
He can bring to pass the things He sees that His children need.

Remembering what God has done for us is such a powerful thing in our lives. We so live in the moment and when the moment isn't going the way we think it should we forget about what has happened in the past. We have to know that our God NEVER changes so what He has been to us in the past is how He will be in our future!
Thanks for such an encouraging word. I needed it!!
