Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria

“But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Study note in my bible . . .

Jerusalem – the place of their worst experiences and greatest failures

Judea – the place where their neighbors and Jewish relatives lived and knew the worst about them

Samaria – the place of their worst prejudices

Interesting, don’t you think?  Which would be your first choice and why?

Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth (other nations) represent harvest fields.

Can I share Jesus in places/situations where I have had bad experiences and failures?

Can I share Jesus with family, friends, or neighbors who know my flaws and shortcomings, both in my BC days (before Christ) and in me now as a Christian?

Are there prejudices, i.e. bias, discrimination, preconception, prejudgment based on age, race, gender, or whatever that are keeping me from sharing Jesus?

Acts 1:8 says the Holy Spirit will empower me to tell people about Jesus regardless of any of the above.

I purposely did not list "to the ends of the earth" because for me it is easy to share Jesus with people in other nations, whom I have never met before and may or may not see again. This may not be true for someone else.

Maybe a better question than "what would be your first choice" would be, "which harvest field is your greatest challenge?"
