Bold & Recognized

“The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13 (NLT)

As born again, spirited filled believers, the Holy Spirit empowers us to be as bold as Peter and John. The Holy Spirit generates the power in us to be witnesses in situations and with individuals we dare not even think of going in our own humanness. And, as we share the gospel, God will confirm His word . . . “And the disciples went everywhere preaching, the Master working right with them, validating the Message with indisputable evidence.” Mark 16:20 (Message Bible)

Ready to go out and be a witness? Yes and amen!

BUT . . . the verse goes on to say, “They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.” Peter and John did not just know ABOUT Jesus, they KNEW Jesus . . . they had spent time listening to Jesus teach and preach, watched and helped pray for the sick, witnessed miracles, etc.

Want to be known as someone who “has been and spends time with Jesus?” I do. It begins by spending time in the holy of holies . . . the very presence of God . . . where we can know God and the fullness of His love. Jesus’ blood gives us access to the holy of holies . . . the throne of grace . . . the presence of God.   (Thanks, Pastor Solo, for a great message yesterday!)
