Be Encouraged Today!

We began reading I Thess today. I couldn't stop at chapter one but I read the whole book (a whopping 5 chapters, ha) and was touched by the encouragement Paul, Silas and Timothy brought to the church in that city. As I read verses like 1:2 I could only think of the great team of ladies that minister amoung the women at Lincoln City Church. "I thank God for your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ."
We all know that God directs our lives and we have been brought together in this church and in this city because He is using us to bring His message of salvation to those He draws into our sphere of influence. Right now He is bringing many new ladies (and families) into our church and it is a time of stretching for all of us as we "step up to the plate" and reach out to people who are searching for more of Jesus.
I want you to know that God is using each of you but is going to use each of you in a greater way in the days to come. You will find yourselves being stretched to your spiritual limit. Believe me, you are more ready than you think!!! Let the Holy Spirit flow through you and you'll find yourself ministering in confidence and strength!
I am excited about the days ahead. Encourage each other with words of faith and hope and be there for each other. You are all a gift to this body of believers!
I love you all!!

Sue,

I did the same thing this morning – read the whole of I Thess. As Paul encouraged all of the Thessalonians, so you encouraged your team, and did it in a really great way. You have a way with words – you could write a book. The reason I read the whole book was because in the forefront it said the book has been used mainly as a book about the second coming of Christ. So, I kept reading. I guess I’m reading a lot about the day we’re living in, so I’m always wanting to read more. It was good, and very plain – mostly how to live in expectation on a daily basis.

See you later,

Mom
