Change is good!

I got on the blog to post and discovered new templates - so the change. It is refreshing, don't you think?
Everyone's posts have been so good the last few month. Great insights in the Word. God is speaking - all we have to do is listen!
I love the story of Esther. She is kind of like a female Daniel - except she got pampered with a wonderful makeover when she was taken into the King's palace! But standing up for who you are and what you believe is difficult in any situation. She was faithful to do what God asked of her. And God used her not only for her nation but I love how the Lord uses her to honor Mordacai (sp)and to give "just desserts" to Haman. Just know that God fights your battles and you don't have to defend yourself!!!
Have a wonderful day and try to stay dry as we get rain once again.

Ahhhh.... nice summery looking blog =)

Esther has always been an inspiration and a challenge to me. One thing i noticed this time is what Mordecai told her in chapter 4 when she balked a little about going to the king:

"If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this."

Youch.

Of course! God can find someone else to do His work if i'm not willing (hello, rocks). But it's no good for me -- or my family, present and afar off -- if i back out of an opportunity He's placed me in to carry out His plan and purpose.

How many times have i been focused on what it will cost ME? And forgotten the future generations.

Here's a personal example...

Quite a few months ago, Dustin & i were in the throes (aka, serious struggle) of wondering where in the US to look for a job for him. We really struggled to hear God's voice because it became heartstakingly clear to us that the decision would not only affect the myriad of things in his and my own lives, but also that of our kids! And on down the generations.

And there are countless other examples in my life, too!

Mordecai was SO right. Esther and her family grabbed onto some serious faith and swung way opposite on the pendulum of being wiped out... Mordecai landed with one powerful piece of bling on his finger, loads of authority and land!

And on one more personal note, looking up the generational ladder the other direction, Dustin & i humbly know that many of the reasons for this and that in our lives is because of the way both sets of our parents faithfully served and continue to serve the Lord.

God is SO good!
